Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about what we arrange, how quickly finance can be put in place, what it costs, and how the process works.

Both commercial and personal. On the commercial side that covers business loans, working capital, invoice finance, ATO and tax debt finance, equipment and asset finance, commercial property, construction and development, bridging, caveat loans, business acquisition, and SMSF lending. On the personal side it covers home loans, car and vehicle finance, personal loans, debt consolidation, renovation finance, equity release, and a range of life-event lending. If it is a finance scenario in Australia, it is worth a conversation.

It depends entirely on the product. Short-term facilities such as caveat loans and unsecured business or personal lending can often fund within 2 business days. Property-secured lending takes longer because a valuation is required, commonly two to six weeks. Construction and development finance runs to the project timeline. Tell us your deadline at the first conversation and Joseph Farhat and his team will tell you honestly what is achievable.

From $5,000 to $20 million. Personal lending generally runs from $5,000 to $100,000 unsecured, up to $250,000 for vehicles and leisure assets, and up to $2 million where property secures the loan. Commercial lending generally runs from $20,000 to $10 million, and construction and development from $200,000 to $20 million.

Our panel includes 90+ lenders across major banks, tier-two banks, non-bank lenders, and specialist funders. That breadth is the point: every lender has its own credit policy, and a scenario that sits outside one lender's criteria often sits comfortably inside another's. For unique scenarios where bank and non-bank lenders are not the right fit, we can introduce you to private finance options.

In most cases there is no direct cost to you. We are typically paid by the lender on settlement, and that commission does not increase the cost of your loan. Where a fee applies to a particular product or scenario, Joseph Farhat and his team will tell you before you proceed rather than after. Before we provide credit assistance you will receive our Credit Guide, which sets out how we are paid. The initial conversation is always obligation-free.

Yes, we do. Defaults, arrears, a thin credit file, self-employed income that does not present as payslips, an ATO debt, or a deadline measured in days are all ordinary conversations here, and none of them is something we will make you feel awkward about. Several lenders on our panel weigh your current position more heavily than a credit score. Telling us early lets us approach the right lender first instead of adding enquiries to your file.

Less than most people expect. For a first conversation it helps to know roughly what you need, what it is for, and when you need it. Beyond that, identification and recent bank statements or payslips cover most personal scenarios, and recent business bank statements cover most commercial ones. You can share this through the enquiry form or over the phone, and we will tell you exactly what each likely lender needs from there.

No. Settled With Joe is based in Sydney and works with borrowers Australia-wide, across both metro and regional areas, including Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra as well as regional centres such as Newcastle, Wollongong, Geelong, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba. Most of the process happens by phone and email, so you do not need to be in Sydney to work with us.
